IT’S TIME TO FACE THE MUSIC!!! 


The course is being conducted by Prof. Santiago Lusardi, Anthony Gonsalves Visiting Research Professor, Goa University, and member of the Music Faculty from the University of Seville, Spain, with the participation of accomplished musicians from Colombia, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Argentina and Italy.


This is a 1-credit course for students from all Departments at Goa University.

Open to the public; those not registered as students of Goa University will receive Certificate of Participation on successful completion of the Course.

ESTERN MUSIC WORSHOP
Dialogue with the arts, history, politics and philosophy.

A lectures series where one or more teachers will speak about western classical music. We will offer also short concerts in each meeting.
             

1.      Introduction to Western Classical Music.
2.      Gregorian, Ancient and Renaissance Music.  
3.      Baroque Colonial Music. 
4.      Classical Music.  
5.      Romantic Music.  
6.      Twentieth-century Music.
7.      Music appreciation.

In all meetings will relate music to artistic and other specialty areas of study (fine arts, literature, sacred art, sculpture, painting, politics and society).
This would be of interest to students of other academic disciplines in the University.  Each meeting will be a 2 hs duration.



CHOIR WORKSHOP
Offer a choral workshop six weeks duration; Coral Singing in the tradition of Western music. Would perform a weekly rehearsal in wich we will  preparing repertoire, work on singing technique  and offer students choral experience. . Would prepare to lay the foundation for a Choir of the University of Goa. We will offer an end of year concert.

            This pilot  choir could then carry on under the supervision of the famous Goan-origin Patricia Rozario and her husband Mark Troop, as they visit Goa very regularly.
